Ink pen and wash
Happy drawing:)

I was out having a walk on the beach when I saw the horizon clouds brewing up a storm. And just before I got caught in it, I took some photos, and later sketched the scene with an ink pen and water wash.
Happy drawing:)

I based this picture on a sculpture I had seen in a shop window in Denmark. It is after the style of Franz Xaver Messerschmidt who cast many heads in the 1780’s, exploring different facial expressions.
The wonderful sculptured bust leant itself well to drawing with ink and wash. What fun!
Happy drawing:)

I’m really enjoying drawing in ink! I love how a little water on a brush smudges the ink nicely! I have been practising looking closely and training my hand to capture shapes.
This musketeer appeared at the start of a running event, which set off at the firing of his gun!
Happy drawing!
